Speedsquare is C. Scott and Billy Sheeran, a drum and piano duo from Asheville, North Carolina whose songs land under the ambiguous umbrella of musical experimentation. Their progressive variety has been coined jazz, classical, blues, video game jingles, and theatrics, and each show manifests originality and surprises.

With C. Scott primarily on drums for the band, he also plays guitar, trumpet, trombone, piano, sax, melodica, and mandolin. Besides piano, Billy plays guitar and ashtrays. From playing on city streets with an upright acoustic piano and drum kit to festival stages and nightclubs, the chameleonesque peculiarity of Speedsquare suits them for any occasion, mood, or crowd. The musical chemistry and madness is entertaining at least and provocatively awe-inspiring to most.

C. Scott has been featured in many Southeastern staple bands on multiple instruments including trumpet player for Buttermilk Quartet and Fendal, trumpet, bass, and sax for Three Bean Soup and guitar and bass for JedI and most recently trumpet for Scrappy Hamilton playing 280 shows a year at such venues as the Mercury Lounge, CB’s Gallery (where they won a battle of the bands), Tipitina’s and the TLA in Philly.

Billy Sheeran has taken lessons with Charlie Costa and Harris Simon and attended VCU's jazz department studying with Bob Hallahan for three years. Billy has been featured in many bands in the Williamsburg and Richmond Virginia area in genres ranging from jam bands, prog rock and jazz.
